Story and Art by Mohamed Shafiek

    Chicago, Chicago.

William Bastion trench crawls out of an overturned car. Shattered glass and rubble surround him. His clothing is torn up and blood trickles down over his left eye, forcing him to close it and squint with the other. His face is bruised and splotched with smeared blood.

    It’s one o…[Read more]

Alright! @sora-hana @thaddeus @byakugan-amr I finally got some free time since I’m gonna be storyboarding over the next 2 weeks. So, do any of you guys have stories you want me to review or take a look at?

    • Do you do proof reads by chance?

      • My stories are already here on RRl, they are quite big, but you could give them a shot, they are a bit too big though (Requiem of souls 5 volumes, and the everlasting 8 volumes)

      • Sorry @thaddeus. I’m just gonna review it and tell you how I think of the story telling and other key elements are

        • Ah i see. Thanks for letting me know:) Well, i currently got nothing new accept for Triple Orb Academy. Feel free to give one chapter a shot and let me know what you think:)

@byakugan-amr Finally had the chance to write a review.

Requiem of Souls V2 Final Review

Chapters read: 10/10 of Volume 02

I will follow the same criteria here.

    Story Concept (07/10)
The story concept is still the same, but in Volume 2, you’ve added your story a twist –in which made it quite interesting compared to the previous volume. Wha…[Read more]

    • Thank you very much, I got the idea.
though for the characters it is a bit of a problem for me, i have a little problem with fleshing them out, yet Daiki is originaly an arrogant bastard, he was like that, and will remain like that, so if you don’t like arrogant people then its gona be a tough read, the seond thing is the world building, i don’t…[Read more]

      • The explanation about humans is good here, I think it’s better if you add it on the first part of your novel. That is a good reasoning, and convincing enough. πŸ˜€

Also, on the characters. Please don’t think about it too much, since my review is very one-sided. πŸ˜€

  • Update: My manga is going really great! Adopting an episodic format with overarching plot elements is really really fun! I love how much I can expand on the world without having to worry about touching plot threads in the process. As for Square One, I do have the 2nd and 3rd volumes already finished. I just want to space them out between each…[Read more]

    • Dude, that’s great! I’m glad your manga is going so well. Yeah, I know that feeling too well. I feel the same exact way with my light novel. Because, I have so many intriguing ideas running around my head. And don’t worry about it, man. I understand that some novels and/or manga weren’t intended to last long. I’ve read manga like that. Plus, this…[Read more]

    • Congrats on finishing your 3 volumes. Meanwhile, i’m still stuck on my second. Now that summer break is on, i really hope to finish this second volume in preparation for the next arc.

      • Lol dude your volumes are huge compared to ours. Yoyr regular chapter has 20k words. In term of work you must have beaten us all ^^

        • I guess haha. I just felt like a word limit was enough. My intentions with volumes was for it to easily translate into 1 season of an anime adaptation er go it has 12 episodes. If it does get an adaptation (which is really big if) then it would have a nice rounded out 3 seasons.

  • OH YEAH!! @sora-hana @thaddeus @byakugan-amr @javon-sankoh It’s finally ready for preorder! This is actually really cool! I hope you all pick up a copy. You can grab it as a digital book or a physical printed copy. Want one? Grab it here:…[Read more]

finished reading your story long ago, i went to take another look at it just to verify this review but it was removed, first of all congratz on being published, it means you are on the right track, But don’t you dare slack off or think that you have reached your goals, you just started, and from now on it gets tougher and tougher!…[Read more]

@byakugan-amr I’m about done with Requiem. Overall, the level of story was too far compared to the previous volume, the grammar also improved a lot. Once done, I’ll post my final review πŸ˜€

Just finished the prologue and the first chapter, i have some small pointers to say, first off all, it was a new concept and a refreshing read, yet there is something that bothered me from the start. i actually had no clue what the hell was going on once the prologue and half of the first volume were read, this doesn’t mean it is bad,…[Read more]

      • Thanks for the honest review. But I think I’ll argue with what you’ve said about “luck” because I personally believe that in games or in anything… luck is normally involved. Whether you are the most hardworking or smartest person in the world, without luck, and a good coincidence, I believe it’s meaningless.

Nevertheless, I agree with the…[Read more]

@byakugan-amr Hi Byako, can I ask you for a favour? Could you read the third chapter of my second volume to see if I did not go overboard. The chapter is about magical weapons where I get to introduce the various classes and where the Main Character gets to choose his weapon. It’s still in beta form so do expect some grammatical errors.

It seems like @byakugan-amr or @sora-hana (which I don’t think is the one who did) decided that my reply to one of the Requiem reviews was worthy of deletion. In that case, I’ll post it here for the public viewing. My voice will be heard for I am the grim reviewer of Vic’s Lab stories:

That’s a really review Sorahana. I also thought that the…[Read more]

@byakugan-amr Hi, Byakugan, here’s my long awaited constructive feedback for Everlasting volume 4

Before I start, just want to give a heads up again. I have a lot to say in regards to this volume, and this review is biased to my own personal views. If you feel that what I say is unjustified, please don’t take it personally.
