Amateur detectives make strange allies in a new key visual (below) for Kabukicho Sherlock, an upcoming original TV anime that re-imagines the classic characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective novels as modern day sleuths bumming around the seedy side of Tokyo's red light district.
Set in modern day Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, Kabukicho Sherlock follows the comedic, mysterious, and dramatic adventures of a ragtag band of detectives as they live together in a tenement above Mrs. Hudson's bar in the red light district and attempt to solve an unusual string of killings known as the "Jack the Ripper Murders".
Kabukicho Sherlock is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features animation production by Production I.G. The series will broadcast in Japan on Mainichi Broadcasting System, Tokyo Broadcasting System, and BS-TBS as part of the "Animeism" programming block beginning in October of 2019.
