Voting Extended for Publishing Contest and Book Added Back

VicsLab.com members,

We made a mistake. We miscalculated the word count for The Fairy Books by user Jonah Breetz and so shouldn’t have removed it from the Publishing Contest.

To be fair to the author, we added the book back into the contest and added it to the poll as well.

To give people more time to read his book if they haven’t done so, we have extended to the voting period by a week to Saturday, June 12, at 5 p.m. EST.

If you have already voted but prefer to vote for The Fairy Books instead, you may private message me @Vic by Friday, June 12, and ask that you change your vote. I will then delete your current vote sometime next Saturday, which will allow you to vote anew.

This will be the only time I will allow users to change their vote. If you haven’t voted already, keep in mind that your votes are final once placed.

Also, we previously stated that authors could not vote for their own book. Unfortunately, their is no way to prevent authors from doing this, so we’ll allow authors to vote for their own story to be fair to those who follow the rules.

Remember to ask people to vote for your book! You can invite people to the website through you’re profile and can invite members to join the Publishing Contest to vote from the Send Invite tab in the group.

You can read the books and vote for them by logging into vicslab.com and visiting the Publishing Contest group page at www.vicslab.com/groups/publishing-contest. The poll for voting is located in the Forum section.

For more information about the contest, see the FAQ post in the Forum section of the Publishing Contest group. If you have any questions about the contest, please post your question there as a comment.
