Hello, my name is Nyisha welcome to the first blog post for this book series I call Knights of Auran. I gotta say, this has been an eye opener for me as in the past this story started out as a fan fiction from the days where words like "Extreme" was the coolest word in the world. I started messing with it in college, changing characters and its storyline to my own. Like all things, life intervened, and I set it aside. Fast forward to 2022, I dusted it off and started up again, changing things around and narrowing down on the story I wanted it to be. It got attention as a draf,t but now I want to try to go "even further beyond "with it.
Even now, I can't believe how diverse, amazing and frightening being a new author in a large community of writers can be. With Author influencers on YouTube and books like Save the Cat, it has opened my eyes to how much one needs to understand creating a world (if you're a world building writer that is).
I'm learning to write Original English Light Novels because of my love for shows and animes growing up to now. I know it may not be a story for everybody but fantasy, whether sci-fi or isekai, has always been a passion of mine which I hope resonates in my story.
What is my story about you ask? Well, I think my elevator pitch would go:
"Kevin Riley is a high school senior who discovers he’s a seirei jin half-breed. Haunted by visions and strange powers, he uncovers a hidden past while evading a sinister organization’s plan to capture him. His journey will take him to unknown truths, a new world and powers that could be a blessing or a curse."
No this isn't a blurb, it's something that I came up with without trying not to spoil anything. So I'm still working on it.
I'll be popping in here monthly to report its progress, as I am happy to announce the first book is complete and being looked over right here at Vic's Lab!
Finding this site is a God sent; I nearly abandoned my search for light novel editors. I look forward to bringing this story to life and one day having a physical copy in my hand. So I thank Vic's Lab for creating this website and giving writers, whether new or experienced, a chance to tell their story for people to read.
Until next time.
