Neo Terra Chapter 1: The Bunny Joker brings out the Reaper ~Beta Test~

"Player number 6011. Please enter the hall on your right and choose a door." As I was called by the female receptionist, I put away my earphones into my pocket and then went as told. The hall I went into was small enough that only a single person can fit although the walls were clearly made out of special alloy and were cleanly polished, the lights on the ceiling were placed parallel to the walls, forming a single line on each side. The place gave off the feeling like a high-tech research facility, when it was really just another hobby shop. A really expensive one it seems. I don't really come here, in fact I never did, because I didn't like going to such places and I prefer ordering online if ever I want anything. The reason why I'm here today is because of this invitation I'm holding right now. It looked like a fancy letter that you usually see nobles use. Not like I know anyone though. Apparently I was randomly chosen as a beta tester of an incoming game. It might've sound fishy at first if you didn't see the ads and announcements of this. Yes. This is official and it was even in a commercial that whoever recieves this letter can participate in the beta. I don't really participate in things like this or any event at all. I don't really like doing anything at all. Not hanging out, not playing games or watching TV, not anything. That is why I'm to at least change that and have a hobby. "It's here huh?" Reaching a T-juntion, there were 6 doors of different colors lined up. From my left to right, the colors were: blue and black, red and black, black and white, green and white, yellow and white, one was grey with a sign saying 'Authorized Personnel Only'. I guess that's out of the choices. "Please enter among the five doors, further instructions would be waiting inside." The female receptionist's voice resounded through the speaker. So the 'How to' guide is still inside the rooms? It is possible that it could be different for each, I need to be careful. Still, this is a weird way to do a beta. Thinking that, I don't even know anything about this game so I don't know what to worry about. Following my usual actions, I went to the second door from my left since I prefer number 2 over number 1. One reason is that I hate being first, second reason would be that I always thought of myself as number 2. I walked infront of the door and reached for the knob and entered the room. "Welcome to the Card Selection room. As a bonus for being part of the beta test, you are free to select up to 50 cards and build your own deck within this room." The on that greeted me was a girl dressed as a red bunny girl with a top hat and a waist coat. She gave off the feeling like a casino dealer and a joker at the same time. The part where she said about you can freely choose any card would be a big advantage for any player. Somehow I feel very bad for those who didn't get to join the beta. "However, you only have 30 minutes to do so. If you have any questions just ask." She placed her index finger by her chin and gave a mischievous smile. So, that's the catch. It would be to fortunate if you had access to this room for a long time. They just give you enough time to get your cards, have a decent build-up, but not enough time to research your cards. "Ah, got it. Do I need to know the minimum requirements for a deck?" As I'm clearly here without any knowledge of the game, I need to ask the basics. "Obviously. You need to have at least 10 character cards and 10 spell cards. The rest could be random so you could build your deck into any style you prefer." "Are there any presets?" "There are but you would waste your chance given to you here in the beta since you could freely choose any card available. If you buy it later, you would have to rely on your luck to get the cards you want." "Oh. I understand." "Wait. Don't you know anything about the game before coming here?" "Nope. I just got the letter yesterday. Truth be told, I don't really have any hobbies so I came to try this out." It might have sounded rude to devoted players but it's the truth. And I don't really care about it. "Is that so?" Since I already started moving around the room while browsing, I didn't see the attendant's mischievous smile grew. "So I want to have your recommendations. Some information about the cards would help too." I'm gonna be blunt this time. I didn't check for the time but hurrying this up would be better since this is timed. "If you say so. Well, that is my job. So, what do you want to know specifically?" "Hmm... Like what kind of cards are in this room, common deck builds and the types of cards?" "That's some important points you're asking there. Are you sure you've never had any hobbies before?" She asked jokingly. Well, I my friends tell me stories of their hobbies before so I might be a little knowledgeable. The things I'm asking now are the things that they usually bring up but I don't really understand them.
