Neo Terra Prologue [Incomplete]
Content
"So you're telling me that you're a princess from another world that came out from a card?" "What's with that look? You sound like a certain African boy talking to a first-world girl which is totally out of context." "Sorry. So, can you please tell me what just happened 56 seconds ago since my brain refuses to comprehend that level of absurdity in less than a minute." Exactly one minute ago, the boy, Tadahiro, just opened up the box of cards he reluctantly bought earlier today and picked up the one rare card that comes with every TCG set. Without any exaggerated special effects besides the card glowing, a girl, the princess from another world, popped out from the card she was illustrated in. Then the following exchange happened... "Ouch. Huh? A human? I guess he's the one that summoned me." "Excuse me, but can you get off me? I know it's rude but you're heavy for me to carry." "Ara. Insults right off the bat huh? That's some nerve talking to a princess like me." "I was already trying to be polite! Why is it that only the word heavy that got through you?!" "Any girl would be conscious about that matter." After brushing off some dirt on her clothes, the girl got off of Tadahiro. "So... Who are you again?" "I guess I need to introduce myself since this is our first meeting, I am Aya, Second Princess of the Uruz Faction, the 4th most popular faction in your game which is a real faction from our world, the world of your Neo Cards. Another world!" "..." After 3 seconds of trying to process the information, Tadahiro's brain went Error 404. And then back to the present... "I think a flashback just happened but you still haven't said anything." Tadahiro said after making a full recovery and just went ahead and read the details of the card. "Do I really have to re-explain what just happened a few seconds ago to a human like you? I don't even know you yet." "Oh, never mind the explanation, I already got it. It's just that, 'Oh look, a weird plot development. What are the odds? I'm dreaming alright.' and then just wait until I accept things and go with the flow." "You're weird." "If you are an otaku or at least read enough fantasy stories, you can easily explain the outline of these events. But accepting them as reality is a completely another matter." "And it only took you a couple of seconds? I was expecting that I would have to explain details to you. From what I heard from others, the fastest was a few hours. Looks like you broke the record." "Others? Well, that is to be expected but you know?" "We're not bound to the human world you know." "Got it. Looks like we're on the same page." "I'm not sure if I'm happy about that. You're kinda creeping me out." Direct hit! Tadahiro curled up in shame as the princess directly said her harsh opinion. Well, Tadahiro isn't that hardcore in being an otaku, there's a reason why he's able to cope at these kinds of events... The past he always wanted to leave behind. "I guess I don't have much to explain to you. Sigh. What should I do next?" "I could read the details about you from your card so yeah. By the way, how could you understand that you're part of a game?" "If you think there's a conspiracy device that caught our kind like animals, well, you're mistaken. A lot of us have God-like abilities and some are like novel protagonists so those things would be taken cared by ourselves. We know why we're here as card characters." "Is your world in the verge of destruction?" "You're like a nosy brat. No, in fact, we still live in our world, partly. That's how we stay in contact with one another." "Ah. I kind of understand now what you just said awhile ago." "Ahh. Let's play a game! Poker sounds good. Sitting here answering you is getting me tired." "Ah. Got it." Tadahiro then stood up and took a set of cards under his bed. Playing and as the same time as the dealer, Tadahiro shuffled and then distributed the cards. Receiving her cards, Aya continued. "Our world... well, is having an argument between factions." Tadahiro nods even if he got the gist of it.
