Toei Animation’s latest feature film PreCure Super Stars! has proved the PreCure franchise’s uprising popularity in Japan. Following the advance ticket sales records, the 24th PreCure film earned an impressive 226,236,600 yen from the 202,750 ticket sales in its opening weekend of March 17-18, which was 143.5% of that of last year’s PreCure Dream Stars! and the highest in the PreCure franchise’s 15-year history.
The previous two-day opening weekend record of 220 million yen was marked by the 8th feature film (2nd All Stars film) PreCure All Stars DX2: Light of Hope☆Protect the Rainbow Jewel! released in March 2010. Since All Stars DX2 also earned 1.15 billion yen from its total domestic run and has been the most successful film in the franchise, PreCure Super Stars! is expected to surpass the box office record for the first time in eight years.

MAPPA and Tezuka Production are teaming up to create a TV anime adaptation of Dororo, an unfinished historical fantasy manga by Osamu Tezuka about a young man who must defeat 48 demons to reclaim the parts of his body that were stolen from him as an infant.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wPl0zCDpSc]
Aside from the key visual and the teaser trailer above, not many details have been revealed about the new production, although an official website and Twitter feed (@dororo_anime) have been published. Although the exact release date has not yet been revealed, the Dororo TV anime will be digitally distributed worldwide via Amazon Prime Video.
The original Dororo manga was serialized from 1967 – 1968 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday and Akita Shoten’s Bōken’ō manga magazines, and English language version is available from Vertical, Inc..

Aniplex announced today on March 19 that an all-new anime feature film based on Tsukasa Hojo’s City Hunter action comedy manga series is set to be released in Japan in early 2019. It is now tentatively titled Gekijyoban: City Hunter/City Hunter: The Movie.
Sunrise, which produced the past anime series from 1987 to 1999 (four TV series with 140 episodes, three TV specials and three films), again works on anime production. 68-year-old Kenji Kodama, who directed the first three TV series and the three films, serves as general director. And Yoichi Kato, best known for his series composition works for Yo-kai Watch series, provides a screenplay.
And most importantly, the two main voice cast from the previous anime, 71-year-old Akira Kamiya and 58-year-old Kazue Ikura are confirmed to reprise their iconic roles, the protagonist Ryo Saeba and the main heroine Kaori Makimura, respectively. The film follows the activities of the two in
the same Shinjuku, but in the modern day setting.
